About the Materials-
While living in NYC years ago I had the opportunity to collect a lot of beautiful lace and trim. I acquired the bulk of my lace collection while working at an intimate apparel design studio that held the license for Christian Dior Intimates and other brands. At the end of each season I was able to accumulated high end lace samples from some of the best lace producers at the time. Most of the samples were either made in America or Europe, although I do not know the origin of many. The collection of vintage lace this kit is taken from was produced in the mid 1990’s. (Some of my postings contain lace purchased recently, in which case I do not refer to them as “vintage”.)
The ribbon roses are made by Offray and stitched together (as opposed to a heat seal operation). The ribbon included to create the casing for the elastic is basic single faced satin ribbon. The elastic is basic straight elastic, no picot edge. It has a lot of stretch to it yet is not stiff, it’s very comfortable.
Please note – Length of lace varies in image with multiple garters. It is included to give ideas of other options. As is the picture of lace folded and cut. Lace shown in first few photos is actual lace sent with kit.
